A nutritious savoury snack made with Mil8 Health Mix Powder, moringa leaves, fennel, and green chilli. This recipe turns health mix into a soft, flavourful tikki that can be enjoyed as an evening snack or light breakfast.
Ingredient | Quantity |
Mil8 Health Mix Powder | 1 cup |
Moringa leaves | ½ cup |
Fennel seeds, lightly crushed | 1 tsp |
Green chilli, finely chopped | 1 |
Salt | As required |
Water | 1 cup |
Ghee or coconut oil | 1 tsp |
Coconut oil | 1 tsp, for kneading |
Oil | For shallow frying |
① Wash and finely chop the moringa leaves.
② In a kadai, boil 1 cup of water with salt.
③ Add 1 teaspoon of ghee or coconut oil to the boiling water.
④ Keep the flame low and add Mil8 Health Mix Powder little by little while stirring continuously.
⑤ Mix well until the mixture comes together like a soft dough.
⑥ Switch off the stove, cover with a lid, and rest for 3 to 5 minutes.
⑦ Transfer the warm mixture to a bowl.
⑧ Add chopped moringa leaves, crushed fennel seeds, chopped green chilli, and 1 teaspoon coconut oil.
⑨ Knead well while the dough is still warm.
⑩ Make small balls and flatten them into round tikkis.
⑪ Heat a tawa or pan. Add a little oil and cook the tikkis on medium flame.
⑫ Cook both sides until lightly crisp and golden.
Do not let the dough cool completely before kneading. Warm dough gives better binding.
Chop moringa leaves finely so they mix evenly.
For children, reduce or avoid green chilli.
For a stronger South Indian flavour, add finely chopped onion, curry leaves, and a pinch of asafoetida.
If the dough breaks while shaping, sprinkle a little warm water and knead again.
Best served fresh and hot. If needed, the dough can be prepared and refrigerated for a few hours, then shaped and cooked before serving.
